The People Operations team at Clover is a passionate group committed to transforming healthcare and enhancing people's lives, a challenging yet rewarding mission! We provide guidance, support, and innovative programs to empower our teams, ensuring they thrive in their roles. It’s an immense responsibility, and we’re privileged to do it.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Compensation, to spearhead the development and execution of Clover’s global compensation strategy to attract and retain top talent. You'll oversee all aspects of our compensation programs, including salary structures, equity awards, and additional incentives. With a focus on innovation, transparency, and creative thinking, you'll conduct market analysis, build a talented team, and implement communication strategies to empower employees and drive organizational success.

As a Senior Manager, Compensation, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compensation strategy aimed at attracting and retaining top talent, ensuring pay equity and driving performance across all programs, including salary structures, equity awards, and other incentives.
  • Oversee ongoing employee compensation programs, including bonuses, market reviews, biannual promotion processes, and equity refresh cycles, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, Talent, Finance, Legal, and vendors, to provide subject matter expertise, manage stock plan administration, and drive various compensation and total reward initiatives.
  • Lead the short and long-term compensation strategy and execution, including job leveling, career-pathing, attraction, retention, reward and recognition, and incentive design to support organizational objectives and employee development.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team by providing mentorship, removing roadblocks, and fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Within the first 60 days, you have seamlessly integrated into the compensation and total rewards team, actively spearheading compensation initiatives and assuming responsibility for critical operational functions. You have also started to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across Clover, fostering collaboration and understanding of compensation strategies.
  • By the end of your 90-day period, you have demonstrated a deep understanding of the compensation and HR frameworks at Clover, exhibit autonomous leadership in team management and are consistently meeting both internal and external objectives.
  • By 6 months, you will be immersed and leading the redesign and implementation of key compensation programs and actively contributing to broader talent management initiatives.
  • Future success in this role will be measured through employee engagement and understanding of our compensation programs, talent retention rates, compliance audits, and feedback from peers and senior leadership, ensuring ongoing alignment of compensation strategies. Continued success in this role involves ongoing improvement of the foundational compensation framework, combined with strategic business partnership. This includes consulting with leadership up to and including the board. It also expands to everything from identifying white space opportunities ranging from workforce planning and geolocation strategies, to incentive design in an evolving corporate landscape.

You should get in touch if:

  • You have 10+ years of relevant compensation experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership positions where you’ve demonstrated success in equity compensation management within complex and fast-paced environments.
    • Public company experience required. Experience in the technology and/or health tech industries preferred but not required.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of global compensation principles, regulations, and market trends, complemented by proficiency in utilizing platforms such as ADP, Radford, Mercer, BetterComp, E*Trade or similar systems and tools.
  • You’re excited to be at the forefront of redesigning our compensation programs, leveraging your expertise to shape and refine strategies across multiple business units.
  • You have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; essential for fostering team collaboration and driving organizational alignment.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to transition seamlessly between individual contributor and leadership roles, embodying a "player-coach" mindset to inspire and guide team members toward achieving collective goals.
  • You are proficient in leveraging analytical tools and databases to interpret complex compensation data, identify market trends, and formulate data-driven and actionable insights.
